Helen Jeanette Forkner Hinshaw

Jeanette Forkner Hinshaw, 88, of NC Hwy 42 South, Asheboro died Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

Mrs. Hinshaw was born in Randolph County on December 15, 1928 the daughter of Hobert and Myrtle (Gardner) Forkner. She was employed in hosiery manufacturing, working as a sewer and in the boarding department. Jeanette was a member of Bethel Friends Meeting, the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and the USFW. After retirement she joined her husband in raising chickens. Jeanette enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, caring for her grandchildren and watching them play in sports events. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Sam Forkner; sisters, Elsie Klien and Lois Forkner.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years: H. Zim Hinshaw; daughter: Sandra Barrett and husband, Darrin; son: Mike Hinshaw and wife, Jackie all of Asheboro; brother: Bobby Forkner and wife, Mary Carol of Asheboro; grandchildren, Michael Hinshaw, Neil Hinshaw and wife, Vanessa, and Madison Barrett; great-grandchildren, Alexus and Cayson Hinshaw; sister-in-law, Jo Forkner of Durham and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Bethel Friends Meeting, 2519 Bethel Friends Church Road, Asheboro and at other times at the home of Mike and Jackie, 3133 NC Hwy 42 South, Asheboro. The funeral will follow Sunday at 3:00 PM at Bethel Friends Meeting with Pastor Ben Hurley and Frank Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
