Glenda Saunders Johnson

Glenda Saunders Johnson, 60, of Elbert Johnson Road, Siler City died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Cabarrus County and was born on February 11, 1953. She was the daughter of Calvin and Bobbie (Almond) Saunders. She was employed by Robins & Ghant and attended Meroney United Methodist Church. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Elbert Johnson and a brother, Gerald Saunders. She is survived by two sons: Tommy Johnson and Christopher Johnson both of Siler City, NC; one sister: Linda S. Pendergrass of Siler City, NC; four brothers: Eddie Saunders of Asheboro, NC; Randy Saunders, Jackie Saunders and Darryl Saunders all of Greensboro, NC; one granddaughter, Casey Spivey. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 12, 2013, 1:00 - 2:00 PM prior to the service at Meroney United Methodist Church, 10568 NC Hwy 902, Bear Creek, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jim Whittaker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Smith & Buckner Funeral Home is assisting the Johnson family.
