Franklin Dwight Williams, 77, of Siler City died Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation.
Mr. Williams was born February 16, 1934 in Liberty, NC the son of George Wesley and Fleta (Edwards) Williams. Mr. Williams was born in Randolph County and had worked with Durham and Southland Life Insurance companies as an agent. Dwight had also owned and operated Bill's Grill in Siler City. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by one son: Greg Williams and wife, Christine of Richmond, VA; one sister: Mary Frances Thacker of Graham, NC; one brother, Cecil Williams of Pleasant Garden, NC; eight grandchildren, and his companion, Geneva Williams of Siler City, NC.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Brady officiating. Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard and Masonic rites by the Liberty Lodge # 714.
