Frances Oldham Johnson

Frances Oldham Johnson, 91, of Bear Creek died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Parkview Rest and Retirement, Sanford. Mrs. Johnson was born in Chatham County on June 12, 1925 the daughter of Henry L. and Mattie (Fisher) Oldham. She was employed as an administrative secretary for the Chatham County Agriculture Extension Service for 30 years. Frances was a member of Antioch Christian Church where she had served as church secretary, and past president of the Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and quilting. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Johnson, Sr.; her parents; brothers, J. B. Oldham, Sr. and John L. Oldham; sisters, Grace O. Dowdy, Mabel O. Lemons, Gladys O. Womble. She is survived by two sons: William E. Johnson, Jr. and fiancee', Jodee Rochell of Bear Creek and J. Kevin Johnson and wife, Rhonda of Bear Creek; one sister: Inez O. Dowd and husband, Dewey of Siler City; one brother: Eugene F. Oldham and wife, Janice of Goldston; grandchildren, William C. Johnson of Raleigh, Anna B. Johnson of Bear Creek, Caleb D. Johnson of Bear Creek. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Antioch Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 246 Antioch Christian Church Road, Bear Creek. The funeral will follow Wednesday at 11:00 with Rev. Mike Harper, Rev. Clark Davis and Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
