Frances Spivey Bowers, 76, of High Point died Friday, September 15, 2017 at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point.
Mrs. Bowers was born in Chatham County on August 26, 1941 the daughter of Brownie and Margaret (Poe) Harris. Frances was a 1959 graduate of Jordan Matthews High School. She was a member of Covenant Church United Methodist and the All Ages and Stages Sunday School Class. She assisted the church youth in fund raising with pecan sales. Frances was retired as a Customer Service Representative with Solstas Labs where she had worked since 1980. She enjoyed cooking, watching cooking programs, traveling, taking cruises and taking care of her grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Will Bowers.
She is survived by her husband of 55 Years, James "Jimmy" A. Bowers; son: Chris Bowers; grandchildren, Nathan, Mason, Kate, Ella Bowers
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Hickory Mountain United Methodist Church, 201 Hadley Mill Road, Pittsboro. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 PM at Hickory Mountain United Methodist Church with Rev. Darren Alexander and Rev. Bill Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Mountain United Methodist Church, 201Hadley Mill Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
