Florence Draper Mohorn Mears

Florence Draper Mohorn Mears, 91, died on January 30, 2018, at Genesis Health Care, in Siler City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Allen Draper, Sterling Gary Mohorn (Bumps) of Weldon, NC and J D Mears of Enfield, NC.

Florence (Flo), along with her two sisters, was known as one of the "Lovely Draper Girls." She loved her Weldon and Enfield communities and was a current member of First Baptist Church in Siler City. Her career included fashion merchandising and North Carolina's Tourism Welcome Centers.

Mrs. Mears leaves a son, Gary (Llewellyn) of Emerald Isle, NC; a daughter, Becky Lane (Jimmy) of Siler City, NC; and a stepdaughter Brenda Craig (Mike) of Charlotte, NC. Her three grandchildren and six great grandchildren knew her as "Lala," a name she loved.

"Flo" Mears was known for her good and kind heart and her generosity of spirit. She loved nature and was particularly fond of family pets. All who knew her will miss her calming presence, her genteel manner, and her beautiful smile.

The family is grateful to the staff at Coventry House of Siler City for helping and "loving" Flo during her years with them. Appreciation is extended to Liberty Hospice and Nurse Tara for their amazing care, advice, and encouragement. Also, thank you to the staff at Genesis Health Care, Siler City, who provided loving care during Flo's final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church, Siler City, on February 11, 2018, at two o'clock.
