Eugene Malone

Great reunions were made on Saturday August 31,2013 when Eugene Malone , 82 passed away at 3:50 am in High Point, NC. Born on February 8, 1931, to Airone and Gladys Mashburn Malone, Eugene resided with his wife of 14 years, Mary Sprinkle Malone, at 1850 Stemp Everhart Road, Thomasville, NC and 111Trenor Lane, Powells Point, NC. Previously, he resided in Siler City for approximately 50 years. Along with his wife, Mary, Mr Malone is survived by four children and two stepchildren: Pat Elrod of Charlotte, Judy Lane and husband Bill Lane of Kitty Hawk and Goldsboro, Don Malone and wife Rhonda Malone of Winston Salem, Lisa Williams and Joseph Williams of Kitty Hawk, Janyce Sprinkle of Denton and Amy Springer and husband Ted also of Denton. In addition, he is survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Surviving siblings are: Lennie Malone of High Point, Catherine Wright of Siler City and Barbara Lopossay of Bennett. Mr Malone was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 46 years, Lydia Ella "Pi" Malone, brothers: June Malone and Gary Malone and sisters: Lorraine Mensch, Polly Landreth, Betty Adcock and Cecil Sjoblom. Eugene was also preceded in death by one grandson, Addison Malone. The family will receive friends on Monday September 2nd at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home from 6 until 8pm. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday September 3rd at 1pm at Oakwood Cemetary in Siler City. Mr Malone was a loving husband, a wonderful father and an amazing grandfather. He will be missed immensely.
