Esther Gertrude Wheeler Shirey

Esther Gertrude Wheeler Shirey, 68, of Siler City died Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at UNC Hospitals of Hillsborough. Mrs. Shirey was born in Chatham County on August 19, 1951 the daughter of Nelson and Fannie (Eubanks) Wheeler. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church of Pittsboro retired from Harris Teeter as a cashier. She is survived by her husband: William Allen Shirey, three daughters: Amy Seils of Pittsboro Amanda MacDonald of Graham and Denise Shelton of Siler City; one son: George Allen Shirey of Valdosta, GA; two sisters: Ava Brower of Staley and Ann Wright of Pittsboro; grandchildren, Nick and Erika Seils, Brandi Cole, Carrie and Jessica Shelton, Ammy McCall, Orion and Maggie Shirey The family will receive friends Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 1:00-2:00 PM at New Salem Baptist Church, 5030 Old Graham Road, Pittsboro, NC. The funeral will follow Saturday at 2:00 PM at New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Gambos officiating. Burial will be at Hanks Chapel United Church of Christ Cemetery.
