Estelle Shuskey Bowers, 84, formerly of Siler City, died Monday, August 15, 2016 at Grayson Creek Assisted Living, Lexington.
Mrs. Bowers was born in Chatham County on July 1, 1932 the daughter of Gester H. and Cara M. (Campbell) Shuskey. Estelle was a member of Hickory Mountain United Methodist Church. She worked at Hadley Peoples Manufacturing but devoted her life to her family.
Estelle was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Bowers; her parents; brother Straughn Shuskey, sisters Elenor Shuskey of Chatham Co and Cleo Teles of Albuquerque, NM; step-son Richard Bowers of Pittsboro and half-brother, James Perry.
She is survived by two daughters: Joanie Marshall of Siler City, Phoebe Marshall of Lexington; one son: Johnnie Marshall of Siler City; one sister: Delene Long of Wisconsin; ten grandchildren, and half-brother, Van Perry of Siler City.
A graveside memorial service will be held Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Hickory Mountain United Methodist Cemetery, 201 Hadley Mill Road, Pittsboro with grandson Heath Roberts officiating.
