Ernest Davis McLawhorn

Ernest Davis McLawhorn, 79, of North Glenn Avenue, Siler City died Thursday, April 24, 2014 at his residence. Mr. McLawhorn was born in Pitt County on September 29, 1934 the son of Harry and Lottie (Fornes) McLawhorn. Ernie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Siler City, Siler City Masonic Lodge # 403 and Siler City Chapter # 9 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard with 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Betty (Gilliard) McLawhorn, daughter: Ellen "Beth" Boner and husband, Gene of Fuquay Varina, NC; son: Ernest McLawhorn, Jr. and wife Jeanine of Glennburnie, MD; sister: Linda Hall; brothers: Bobby McLawhorn, Clifton McLawhorn and grandson, Christopher Jason McLawhorn. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City, NC. A memorial service will follow Sunday at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Capehart officiating.
