Elmer Gray Southern

Elmer Gray Southern, 80, of Goldston died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Cambridge Hills, Pittsboro. Mr. Southern was born in Lee County on November 11, 1935 the son of William and Annie Leone (Tomberlin) Southern. He attended Cornerstone Baptist Church and was a self employed carpenter. Elmer was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Beal Southern. He is survived by daughter: Jennifer Layton of Pittsboro, NC; son: Jamie Binkley of Goldston, NC; sister: Caroline Fuqua of Hendersonville, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Monday, February 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 396 NC Hwy 42, Goldston. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
