Ellen Dry Vann, 77, of Siler City died Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mrs. Vann was born in Stanly County on November 29, 1937 the daughter of Jacob Fleet and Myra (Efird) Dry. Ellen was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church and the Rachel Allred Sunday School Class. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens. She also enjoyed a round of golf and time spent with her family.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and twin granddaughters, Grayson and Katelyn Vann.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years: James S. Vann; two sons: Mitch Vann and wife, Kristen of Siler City, NC, Derrick Vann of Washington, DC; one sister: Linda Dry Jones and husband, Gordon of Charleston, SC; granddaughter, Karsyn Vann.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 12:30-1:45 PM at First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Capehart and Rev. Jim Wall officiating. Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Siler City.
