Elaine Johnson Murray

Elaine Johnson Murray, 57, went home to be with the Lord on August 30, 2012 concluding an extended battle with cancer. Elaine was born December 20, 1954 in Siler City, North Carolina, the daughter of Pauline Johnson and the late Robert Johnson. She graduated from Jordan Matthews High School in 1973 and went on to receive an associate degree in Administration and Fashion Design. She married Tommy Braxton Murray in July 1978. She is survived by her husband, Tommy Murray of Apex and a devoted mother of two children: Derek Braxton Murray of Jacksonville, Florida and Jill Murray McDonald of Fargo, North Dakota. She is survived by her brothers: Raymond Johnson and wife, Donna, niece Sarah, Phillip Johnson and wife, Myra, nephew Phillip Todd, sister: Margaret Tarkenton and husband, Don, niece Stephanie. Elaine retired after 30 years with North Carolina State University. She loved gardening and spending time with her family and dogs; Sage and Bella. A visitation and funeral service will be held on Monday, September 3, 2012.
