Edna Burke Kidd, 88, of US Hwy 64 West, Siler City died Monday, May 27, 2013 at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Kidd was born in Chatham County on October 15, 1924 the daughter of Addison and Maggie (Lemons) Burke. She was a member of Hickory Mountain Baptist Church and retired from Siler City Manufacturing. Edna enjoyed cooking, canning, playing Bingo and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years: Howard J. Kidd; two sons: Billy Kidd and wife, Sherry, Jerry Kidd and wife, Linda all of Siler City, NC; sister: Bronna Phillips of High Falls and one brother: William T. Burke of Asheboro; grandchildren, Rob Kidd and wife, Beth, Kelly Eldridge and husband, John, Heidi Faucette and husband, Travis, Nicholas Kidd; step-grandchildren, Michael Boone and wife, Angela and Mitchell Boone and wife, Emily; eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 1:30 - 2:30 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:30 at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Wall officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery, Siler City.
