Durward Sheeley Emery

Durward S. Emery, 86, of 7166 Jordan Road, Ramseur died Monday, October 24, 2011 at Universal Health Care. Mr. Emery was born May 7, 1925 son of Lebern and Estie Wilson (Thurman) Emery. Mr. Emery was born in McMinnville, Tennessee and was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Wesleyan Church. Durward was preceded in death by his parents, Lebern and Estie Wilson Emery, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by sons: James Emery and wife, Mary Ann of Statesville, NC, Junior Emery and wife, Helen of Harmony, NC; daughters: Ann E. McDaniel and husband, Jeff of Siler City, NC, Barbara Emery of Liberty, NC, Denise Brinkley of Siler City, NC, and sons, Gary Emery and wife, Teresa of Pleasant Garden, NC, Danny Emery of Liberty, NC ;sister: Mildred Culberson and husband, Joe of Siler City, NC; sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and other times at the home of Ann and Jeff McDaniel, 2065 Smith Hudson Road, Siler City. A graveside service will be Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Chatham Memorial Park, 13260 Hwy 64 West, Siler City with Rev. Noah Albarez and Rev. Tim Ritter officiating.
