Dorothy Faye Hatfield Ashley

Dorothy Faye Hatfield Ashley, age 78, of Pittsboro went home to be with her Lord Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Cambridge Hills Assisted Living Facility in Pittsboro, NC. Mrs. Ashley was born July 6, 1937 in Hardy, Kentucky the daughter of the late Ira and Sarah (Mayse) Hatfield. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was proceeded in death by her husband, Curtis C. Ashley, Sr ; eight siblings and a daughter, Shirley Jean Ashley. Dorothy was a loving mother, who lived for her children and family but first and foremost she was devoted to her Lord and Savior. She is survived by four sons: Michael J. Ashley and wife, Marcie of Tulsa, OK., Kenneth H. Ashley and wife, Glinda of Tulsa, OK., John P. Ashley and wife, Becky of Key West, FL and Curtis C. Ashley, Jr and wife, Rose of Pittsboro, NC; two sisters, Bonnie Ferrell of Kalkaska, MI and Edith Harman of Irvington, AL. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren including: Laura Faye Ashley, Candida Ashley Fortner, Gregory Sean Ashley, Jeffery Venable and Mike Venable and more than twenty great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City, NC with Rev. Johnny Hatfield and Rev. Tom Roswell officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday before and after the service at the home of Curtis and Rose Ashley, 317 Laura Johnson Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Pressley, Jason Meads, Craig Wilson, Gary Lopossay, Cody Clark, Keith Welsch and Gary Starr. Memorials may be made to Liberty Home Care and Hospice.
