Doris Welch Fields

Doris Welch Fields, 66, of Siler City died Monday, August 11, 2014 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. Mrs. Fields was born in Chatham County on April 17, 1948 the daughter of Theodore and Pearl (Brown) Welch. She was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church and had been employed as a weaver with Master Craft. Doris enjoyed sewing and quilting and time spent with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, J. R. Welch; sisters, Mary Powers and Christine Beal. She is survived by one daughter: Missy Petty and husband, Shawn of Bonlee; sons: Curry Fields of Bear Creek, Jeff Fields and wife, Ashley of Siler City; brother: David Welch and wife, Linda of Siler City; grandchildren, Brooke Fields Owensby and husband, Gary of Silk Hope, Emily Petty Bray and husband, Justin of Siler City, Taylor Petty Brady and husband, Dylan of Bennett, Chase Deese and wife, Hannah of Clovis, NM, Brantley Petty of Bonlee; great-grandchildren, Serena Deese and Faith Owensby; special friends, Carol Welch and Betty McKinney. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Brush Creek Baptist Church, 5345 Airport Road, Bear Creek, NC:. The memorial service will follow Thursday in Brush Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Stanley officiating.
