Donald "Donnie" Robert Morrison, Sr.

Donald "Donnie" Robert Morrison, Sr., 69, of Murchison Road, Gulf died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford. Mr. Morrison was born March 1, 1946 in Washington, DC the son of Robert Lee and Sara Emma (Bridges) Morrison. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. Donald was retired from PSNC after 36 years of service as a field service specialist. He loved his family and time spent with them. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Emma Jean Caviness and Barbara Fields. He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Nancy (Cole) Morrison; daughter, Jaime M. Connor and husband, Timothy; sons: Don Morrison, Kevin Morrison and wife, Amy; granddaughter, Lacey Morrison; sisters: Brenda Hart, Pearl Canterbury; brother: Leon Morrison. The family will receive friends Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and at other times at the home of the daughter, 4854 R. Jordan Road, Sanford, NC. The funeral will be Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Bethany Baptist Church, 503 Alton King Road, Gulf with Rev. Leslie Puryear and Rev. Mac Keck officiating.
