Dolores "Lori" Jessup Lambert, 78, of Meadow Creek Road, Siler City died Friday, January 24, 2014 at her home after months of declining health.
Mrs. Lambert was born in Randolph County on January 18, 1936 the daughter of Raymond and Margaret (Davis) Jessup. She was a member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church. Lori was a retiree of Energizer Battery in Asheboro. She enjoyed working in the home and was tireless when it came to her well manicured lawn and flower gardens. Lori truly loved her family and friends. She was always in a hurry but never too busy to help someone in need. She was always appreciative of others and their kind deeds. Lori wore a special smile and never short of showing her love and affection for others. She will be missed…a very sweet lady.
Lori was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Lambert; her parents; her husband of 57 years, Bobby Lambert; brothers, Tommy Jessup and Johnny Jessup and a sister, Judi Jessup Pugh.
Mrs. Lambert is survived by: daughter, Amy Lambert Williams; son, Ronnie Lambert; grandchildren, Lindsay Williams, Will Lambert and Molli Lambert; great-grandson, Conner Martinez; sister, Phoebe Jessup Burkheart; brothers, Jean Jessup, David Jessup, Sidney "Tony" Jessup and Russell Jessup.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 27, 2014 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will follow at 12 noon in Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tripp Foltz officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
Due to the recent passing of Mrs. Lambert's husband Bobby Lambert, the family has requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be to the Alzheimer's Association @ www.alz.org or 1-800-272-3900.
