Dennis Parker Jordan

Dennis Parker Jordan, Jr., 73, of Vander Oldham Road, Bear Creek died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Jordan was born in Forsyth County on January 15, 1940 the son of Dennis Parker and Hattie (Gregory) Jordan. He was an Army veteran, employed by Chatham County as a mechanic and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Floyd and Lloyd Jordan; sister, Frances Morrison and a grandson, Stephen Gaines. He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Doris (Brewer) Jordan; one daughter: Denise Jordan Gaines; three sisters: Linda Hesselmeyer of Ramseur, NC, Peggy Hall and Judy Warren both of Sanford, NC; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 396 NC Hwy 42, Goldston with Rev. David Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
