DeEtte Phillips Jones

DeEtte Phillips Jones, age 98, of 440 Daniel Jones Road, Bear Creek, NC, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Firsthealth Hospice in Pinehurst. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Fall Creek Baptist Church, 1745 Fall Creek Church Road, Bennett, with Dr. Ron Chaney and Rev. Scott Allmon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Jones, was the oldest member of Fall Creek Baptist Church, was a choir member for many years, a Chatham County native and a homemaker. She loved to work in her garden, was an avid quilter and a great cook. Mrs. Jones was born on July 27, 1914, in Bennett, the daughter of Herbert R. and Nannie Brewer Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Daniel H. Jones, daughter: Ellen Jones Lambert, brothers: Clarence Phillips, Robert Phillips and a sister: Evelyn P. Cheek. She survived by a son: Doyle Jones and his wife Elaine of Bear Creek, Six Grandchildren, Eleven Great-Grandchildren, Three Great-Great-Grandchildren and a Sister: Maxine P. Albright of Bennett. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 220 N.
