Daynelle Creekmore Blackmon Headen

Daynelle Creekmore Blackmon Headen, 83, of Hope Mills, formerly of Siler City, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville. Mrs. Headen was born in Franklin County, in Spring Hope, on May 5, 1933 the daughter of Robert Clifford and Nellie (Bowden) Creekmore. Daynelle was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Hope Mills and a former member of Loves Creek Baptist Church, Siler City. She retired from Shelby Insurance Company. While employed she earned a CPIW designation (Certified Professional Insurance Woman) and received an AAMGA Award (American Association of Managing General Agents) for dedicated service and outstanding achievements. Daynelle had been a member of the National Association of Insurance Women since 1979 where she had served on all committees and held several offices including two terms as president. Daynelle was a member of Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by husbands, Arthur E. Blackmon and James Robert Headen; son, James A. "Jimmy" Blackmon; her parents; brother, Robert Creekmore. She is survived by two daughters: Eleanor B. Felton of Hope Mills and Elaine B. Hyman of Fayetteville; one son: Donnie Ray Blackmon of Shreveport, LA; three sisters: Florine Harper, Dorothy Anderson and Evelyn Bryant; three brothers: Grafton Creekmore, Stacy Creekmore and Everette Creekmore; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at Chatham Memorial Park.. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Chatham Memorial Park, 13260 Hwy 64 West, Siler City with Rev. Bob Boyd officiating.
