Daisy Catherine “Kathy” Riggans Gaddis beloved wife, mother, mother -in law, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, gained her angel wings at the age of 72 on November 22nd 2024 at the residence of her son, surrounded by her family and friends.
Kathy was born October 18th, 1952 in Graham, NC to Jessie Franklin “Mutt” Riggans and Margaret Thornton Riggans Wilson. Kathy grew up in Mebane, NC. She was a wonderful mother and even better grandmother, loving some more than others. She had her favorites and let that be known. Kathy was there when we needed her the most offering her support wisdom and most of all her love. A friend to many at New Day Ministries, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength and her strong faith in Jesus.
Kathy worked at Careview Rest home as a live-in supervisor/CNA until she retired. She will be remembered for her fierce loyalty and love to her family and friends. Kathy loved her family. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family and her church family. She enjoyed knitting, bingo, playing poker with her brother and sister. She loved to fish. Kathy loved to watch General Hospital everyday and "do not disturb her while it was on". She also loved to watch WWE wrestling and UNC basketball.
Kathy is proceeded in death by her husband, Thomas Gaddis, of 47 years, her father, Jessie Franklin “Mutt” Riggans and mother, Margaret Thornton Riggans Wilson; two brothers, Jerry Wayne Riggans and David Allen Riggans.
Kathy leaves behind her two sons, Charles “Chuck” Gaddis (Jayne) of Staley and Tracy Gaddis (Chandra) of Graham; daughter, Jennifer Gaddis Applewhite of Liberty; brother, Roy Riggans(Teresa) of Siler City; sister, Ann Wilson (Doug) of Graham; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Dunn(Willis), Chris Gaddis (Madison), Hunter Gaddis (Jenna), Danielle Olson (Steven), Charles Gaddis, Thomas Gaddis (Bella), Breanna Applewhite, Caitlyn Applewhite, Jason Gaddis; great-grandchildren, Gracie Gaddis, Gage Dunn, Savannah Dunn, Legend Dunn, Harley Gaddis, Kolton Aney, Paisley Gaddis, Raelynn Gaddis, Imrie Gaddis, Cody Partin, Abby Partin, Elijah Gonyer and Connor West; and special friend, Derek Green.

A memorial service will be held at New Day Ministries in Liberty, NC on Saturday, November 30th, 2024, at 2 pm.
