Curtis J. Beck passed away peacefully, Sunday afternoon, March 20, 2016 at UNC Hospitals at the age of 83.
Curtis was born in Randolph County on July 27, 1932, the son of Ben and Jenny Dupree Beck. He was of the Christian Faith and attended Faith Family Ministries.
Curtis was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Master Craft in Siler City. Curtis enjoyed western movies on tv, country music and old time Gospel music.
He was married to Omelia Smith Beck for 63 years, whom he was very devoted to. They spent most of the last few years at home in Siler City.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents and twelve sisters and brothers. He was the youngest child.
He is survived by his wife, Omelia Smith Beck; daughter, Joyce Hinson (David); sons, Tony Beck (Pontip) of Siler City; Larry Beck (Esther) of Brandon, FL; grandchildren, Adam Beck, Christina Beck Guy (Andy), Billy Joe Ellis (Cindy), Mitchell Beck, Demetria Beck; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Guy, Jacob Beck, Mackenzie Beck; step-great-grandchildren, Phillip Pendergrass and Erica Pendergrass.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM at Chatham Memorial Park with Randy Laws officiating.
