Clyde Durant Pell, 89, of Sheffield Drive, Siler City died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
Mr. Pell was born in Randolph County on December 4, 1924 the son of Durant and Effie (Macon) Pell. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. He served in Pattons 3rd Army in several battles including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a regional salesman for Poulan Chain Saws. After retirement he worked parttime for Cross Creek Golf Club. He enjoyed reading, golf, watching baseball or any other sporting events. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, wife, twin sister and two brothers.
He is survived by one daughter: Terry P. Thomas and husband, Billy of Siler City, NC; one son: Jeff Pell of Asheboro, NC; granddaughters, Ginger Teague, Julie Thomas and Angie Ritter and six great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
