Claude Jackson Flanary, age 87, of Randleman died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mr. Flanary was born May 19, 1931 the son of O.W. and Dorothy Erwin Flanary.Claude was a native of Scotts County, Va. and served in the US Army during the Korean War, serving in the intelligence department and chemical weapons specialist. He retired from Neal's Machine Shop in Greensboro and attended First Assembly Church in Asheboro. Claude enjoyed fishing and loved animals. He took great pride in his yard work and had beautiful rose bushes to show for it. In addition to his parents, Claude is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Flanary, brothers: Larry, Paul and Charles Flanary.
He is survived by his daughter: Gloria Jean Mathis and husband William of Randleman; granddaughter: Jacqueline Michele Harrell and husband Joe of Asheboro; great grandchildren: Claudia Joe and Finley Ryan Harrell both of Asheboro; sister: Sandra Jenkins and husband Larry of Greensboro; special companions: Tinker, Tee-Tee, Sunshine, Peaches and Princess.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm at First Assembly Of God, 909 Meadowbrook Road, Asheboro with Pastor Kim Snyder officiating. Please come worship with us at the 11:00 am service for Pastor Snyder will be speaking about the life of Claude.
