Charles T. Campbell, 81, of Siler City died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst. Mr. Campbell was born June 26, 1933, the son of Charlie Taylor and Hazel (Pickett) Campbell. Mr. Campbell was a native of Chatham County, a member of First Wesleyan Church, and a member of the Ken Smith Sunday School Class. Charles served in the Army, served the Siler City community in the monument business and as co-owner/operator of Chatham Monument Company for 60 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald Campbell. He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Janice Jones Campbell, daughter: Cynthia Campbell Jacobs and husband, Jake of Sanford, NC, son: Greg Campbell and wife, Ann of Bear Creek, NC, grandchildren: Joey White, Whitney White, Howie Windham, Matthew Campbell and Zach Campbell, great-granddaughter: Hailey White. Visitation will be Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the First Wesleyan Church, 608 N. 3rd Ave., Siler City with Donald Southern and Dr. Eddie McClure officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Wesleyan Church building Fund. Condolences may be made at www.pughfuneralhome.com.
