Charles Edward Bray

Charles Edward Bray, 69, of Airport Road, Bear Creek died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Chatham Hospital, Inc. Mr. Bray was born in Chatham County on November 9, 1945 the son of Eli and Edith (Page) Bray. Charles was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church and had been employed by Klopman Mills as a fixer for over 34 years. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Virginia Vestal. He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Jane (Thrift) Bray; son: Joshua Bray of Wilmington, NC; daughter: Mechelle Blackwood of Miramar, FL; mother, Edith (Page) Bray of Bear Creek ; sister, Linda Brooks and husband, Howard of Siler City, NC; brother: Billy Joe Bray and wife, Carol of Siler City, NC; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Monday, February 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Brush Creek Baptist Church, 5345 Airport Road, Bear Creek with Rev. Patrick Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
