Cassie Mae Frye Robinson

Cassie Mae Frye Robinson, 104, of 2702 Farrell Road, Sanford formerly of Siler City died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Sanford Health & Rehab. Mrs. Robinson was born July 8, 1907 the daughter of Muriel and Ellen (Campbell) Frye. Mrs. Robinson was born on a farm in Moore County one of twenty-two children. She moved to Chatham County in the thirties. She was an active member and the oldest member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church. She was a member of the Jubilee Senior Singers. Cassie had a lifelong love of gardening, growing vegetables and flowers and baking. She mowed her own lawn well into her nineties. Cassie also loved her family and was an inspiration to all of them, sharing her love and faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, George Baxter Robinson; son, George Leo Robinson and wife, Ruth Landreth Robinson; daughter, Ruby Martindale and husband, Millard Martindale; daughter-in-law, Rachel Phillips Robinson; sons-in law, Tommy Moody and Van Hutchins; grandson, Bobby Martindale; great-granddaughter, Niki Martindale, her parents and all of her siblings. She is survived by three daughters: Edna Hutchins of Staley, NC, Barbara R. Moody of Siler City, NC, Jessi R. McDaniel of Siler City, NC and one son: Roger Robinson and wife, Ruby of Moycock, NC;; twenty grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren totaling 121 and granddogs, Lola Grace and Brutus. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Rives Chapel Baptist Church, 4338 Rives Chapel Church Road, Siler City with Rev. Tripp Foltz, Rev. Luther Lemon and Rev.
