Carole Brady Langley

Celia Carole "Putnam" Brady Langley, 78, of Staley received her angel wings on Sunday, March 4, 2018 after a four year battle with cancer.

Mrs. Langley was born in Chatham County on August 16, 1939, the daughter of Jesse David and Hazel (Stanley) Brady. Carole was a 1957 graduate of Emmanuel Academy in Franklin Springs, Georgia. Carole had been employed in banking and real estate. She was a devoted Christian and very active in the church as a choir member, teaching Sunday School and leading Children's Church. Music was a huge part of her life even up to the time of her death. Carole was a member of the original Sunshine Trio. She enjoyed growing flowers in her yard and making silk arrangements. She was known for her love of decorating, especially Christmas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin "Shot" Langley and her parents.

Carole is survived by one daughter: Tahia Langley; two sisters: Becky Brooks and Brenda "Rockie" Ward (Paul); one brother: Hank Brady (Dianne);sister-in-law, Rachel Joyce; three generations of nieces and nephews; extended/ adopted family; Jeff "JT" Smith, Derrick Smith, Nicholas Smith, Lee Tarver, Rudy Anderson; and her faithful Canine Companion, Beowulf.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral will be Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Holly's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 8003 Ferguson Rd., Ramseur with Dwayne Lester and Garry Yeatts officiating.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to caregivers Gwen Carmac, Rachel Joyce and Machele Lopez.
