Carlyle Fields Gaines

Carlyle Fields Gaines, 76, of Bonlee died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at UNC Hospitals. Mrs. Gaines was born in Chatham County on February 20, 1939 the daughter of Charles R. and Clyde Ella (Robbins) Fields. She retired from SunBridge Nursing Home as a cook and had also work at Glendale Hosiery, Robbins & Ghant and A. J. Schneierson. Carlyle was a member of Bonlee Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, sending greeting cards to family and friends, time playing with her cats and dogs and caring for her grandchildren. Carlyle was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Howard "Buck" Gaines; daughter: Lisa Gaines and husband, Barry of Goldston; son: John Howard Gaines and wife, Cindy of Bonlee, NC; grandchildren, Justin and wife, Kira, Ella, and Troy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Friday, October 16, 2015 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Bonlee Baptist Church. . The funeral will be Friday, October 16, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Bonlee Baptist Church with Rev. Ritchie Nall, Rev. Mitch Watson, Rev. David Hicks and Rev. Brandon Dobson officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Bonlee. Smith & Buckner Funeral Home is assisting the family.
