Carlos Enrique Simpson, 61, of Siler City passed away at his home on July 21, 2024. He was born in Costa Rica on December 27, 1962, son of Mariana Cristina Hernández and Ernesto Simpson. Left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss is his wife, Jessica Simpson, his sons, Demoins Simpson, Daryl Simpson, and Brandon D'Arce and granddaughter Erika D'Arce and as well as his brothers. Carlos shared stories of growing up near the beach in Costa Rica, which included fishing, catching turtles, and swimming. Carlos moved to the United States at age of 12 after his mother passed away. He graduated from high school in Brooklyn and attended community college in the Bronx. He then enlisted in the army. After leaving the service, Carlos got a degree in Psychology and ran for several local offices in Siler City. He also ran for the Siler City Immigrant Advisory Committee, worked for years at Townsend's Chicken Plant, Pentair and recently as a bus driver for Asheboro City schools. He had his own translation and interpretation business for the Hispanic community.
Carlos enjoyed participating in golf events whenever the opportunity arose, he also enjoyed bowling, joining several leagues over the years and was always willing to coach less experienced players, and he used to go fishing at the Jordan Lake whenever he could. He always said he enjoyed what he did. He also was into movies, basketball and soccer.
“The only thing left for me to say is that our journey together was filled with beautiful moments and challenges that only strengthened our love. Through your kindness, your patience, and your strength, you left an indelible mark on our lives and I will continue to honor your memory every day. I wish I could tell you that I love you one more time, but I know that you are in a better place now and I know that you are watching over and protecting us,” shared his wife, Jessica.
