Carl Roe Gaines, III

Carl "Trae" Roe Gaines, III, 53, of Goldston, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

Mr. Gaines was born in Lee County on January 20, 1970, the son of Carl Gaines Jr, and Judith Medlin Gaines.

Trae attended Antioch Baptist Church. After working in the Poultry field for a time, he was employed as a General Contractor for Jody Brafford Construction. Trae loved to get outside and go fishing or hunting. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son, Tyler David Gaines of White Hill, NC; sister, Carla Gaines and husband Eddie Dean Wilkie of Siler City; grandson, Keegan Kaleo Gaines; nephew, Justin and wife Brittany Powers Childress of Goldston; and great nephew and niece, Easton Phillip and Hunter Grace Childress.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Antioch Baptist Cemetery Fund.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 1:30-2:30 PM at Antioch Baptist Church, 3825 Bonlee Carbonton Rd., Goldston, NC followed by a funeral service at 2:30 PM with Rev. Doug Griffith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
