Arthur Bryant Kennedy, 83 of Driftwood Drive, Siler City died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the V.A. Medical Center Hospice Ward, Durham.
Mr. Kennedy was born in Rocky Mount on June 28, 1930 the son of David Warren and Mary (Carmichael) Kennedy. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Bryant retired from Carolina Telephone after 35 years of service where he was supervisor of installation and repair. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Rachel Allred Sunday School Class, the adult choir and a former deacon. Bryant was a member of the Siler City Lions Club and the Siler City Masonic Lodge # 403 AF & AM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Kennedy and his parents.
He is survived by two sons: Art Kennedy and wife, Renee', Mike Kennedy and wife, Missy both of Siler City; grandchildren, Leslie Wilkie and husband, Drew, Taylor Kennedy and wife, Beth, Jennifer Eu and husband, Ryan, Connor Kennedy; great-grandsons, Brennen Wilkie, Carson Kennedy, and girlfriend, Dula Hester.
Visitation will be Monday February 3, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 N. Second Ave. Siler City, N C and other times at the home of son Art Kennedy, 1005 Parkwood Drive. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday February 4, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City with Rev. Tony Capehart officiating. Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
