Bryant Howard Brewer

Bryant "Howard" Brewer, 79, of Vander Oldham Road, Bear Creek died Monday, October 27, 2014 at First Health Hospice And Palliative Care, Pinehurst. Mr. Brewer was born in Chatham County on August 18, 1935 the son of Kenny and Alma (Hicks) Brewer. He served in the Army during World War II and retired from Gold Kist Hatchery where he was an assistant supervisor Howard was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, enjoyed time spent with his family, gardening, fishing and quail hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell, Jack and Huey Brewer. He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Vivian (Caviness) Brewer; Daughter, Melinda B. Glover; sisters: Mary Hutchins of Coleridge, NC, Doris B. Jordan of Bear Creek, NC, Mildred B. Freeman of Bear Creek, NC; granddaughter, Latasha DeGraffenreaidt; great-grandson, Braylon DeGraffenreaidt The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 17721 NC Hwy 902, Bear Creek, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Garner and Rev. David Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
