Bridget Ellis Cockman

Bridget Ellis Cockman, 22, of Wildlife Road, Bear Creek died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at her residence. Ms. Cockman was born in Chatham County on September 16, 1991. Bridget was a 2010 graduate of Chatham Central High School and attended Sandhills Community College. She attended Piney Grove United Methodist Church and was employed as a Certified Nurse Assistant in home health care. Bridget was a "happy go lucky" person who enjoyed being outdoors, all animals and any music. She liked to take long walks, go hunting and fishing. Bridget was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Billy S. and Linda Poe Ellis; uncle, Larry Keith Ellis. She is survived by her parents, Billy Lewis (BL) and Bonnie (Staley) Ellis; sister: Marsha E. Torres and husband, Tony of Southern Pines, NC ; brother: Billy Joe Ellis and wife, Cindy of Staley, NC; maternal grandparents, John Robert and Jane Dark Staley of Bear Creek, NC; maternal great-grandmother, Mary Etta Kime Staley of Bear Creek, NC; uncle, Elliott Staley of Bear Creek, NC; aunt, Sharon Brewer and husband, Nelson of Siler City, NC; nieces, Lilly and Lea; cousins, Ashley, Ben and Lindsey; great uncle and aunt, Walter Lee "Dink" and Frances Ellis of Bear Creek. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and other times at the home of her parents, 340 Wildlife Road, Bear Creek. The funeral will be Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 2343 Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City with Rev. Jim Folks officiating.
