Brenda Sue Brafford Hayes

Brenda Sue Brafford Hayes, 58, of Pittsboro died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Chatham Hospital, Inc., Siler City.

Mrs. Hayes was born in Chatham County on July 4, 1959 the daughter of William David and Nannie Mae (Bivens) Brafford. Brenda had worked for Hadley People Manufacturing, was of the Baptist faith and was a loving wife, mother and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 29 years: Raeford Hayes; daughter: Marsha Hayes of Bear Creek; sisters, Judy Caviness of Siler City and Linda Beal and husband, Tommy of Goldston; brother: David "Ricky" Brafford of Siler City and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 23, 2017 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. A graveside service will follow Saturday at 2:30 PM at Goldston Cemetery with Rev Ray Gooch and Rev. Frank Taylor officiating.
