Bobby Frank Phillips

Bobby Frank Phillips, 77, of 181 Hilliard Road, Bear Creek died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. Mr. Phillips was born in Chatham County on January 26, 1935, the son of Paul Anderson and Rosie Sherman (Hunter) Phillips. Mr. Phillips was member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and retired from Mastercraft. His interest were hunting, going to flea markets and mowing his yard. He never met a stranger and loved to tease people. He enjoyed attending his church and spending time with his family. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Floyd Phillips and a sister, Madelene Moore. He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Marie (Brooks) Phillips, one daughter: Vivian Headen and husband, Mike of Siler City, NC and one son: Donald Ray Phillips and wife, Melissa of Siler City, NC; three sisters: Betty Carter of Siler City, NC, Doris Dimeo of Siler City, NC, Peggy Brooks of Bear Creek, NC and four brothers: Harlan Phillips of Lexington, NC, William "Shug" Phillips of Bear Creek, NC, Homer Phillips of Bear Creek, NC, James Phillips of Bear Creek, NC grandchildren, Shvonne Rodriguez, Dwayne Moody, Jolene Sigler, Ethan Headen, Jacqueline Phillips and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, February 3, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Garner and Josh Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
