Bobby Lineberry Buckner, 82, of Silk Hope-Gum Springs Road, Pittsboro died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Buckner was born in Chatham County on January 26, 1933 the son of Olon M. and Blanche Johnson Buckner. He was a Navy veteran; a farmer and truck driver for Allide-Signal Company. Bobby was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, served on the cemetery committee and a Deacon, and member of the Adult Men's Sunday School Class. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister; Ruth Smith, brothers; Carl, Clyde, Grady, Talton and infant twins.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Virginia Lindley Buckner of the home, son: Michael A. Buckner and wife, Jamie and her children, Julia and Matthew of Pittsboro, NC.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the fellowship hall at Emmaus Baptist Church, 2430 Silk Hope Gum Springs Road, Pittsboro, NC. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Steve Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
