Bobby Adale Blackmon

Bobby Blackmon, 71, of Siler City died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at UNC Hospitals.

Mr. Blackmon was born in Lee County on September 10, 1945 the son of Ed and Stella (Ammons) Blackmon. Bobby was a member of Community Baptist Church and a self-employed handyman and plumber. He enjoyed working and could always be found with a smile on his face.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Oldham Blackmon; his parents; sisters Evelyn Oldham and Mary Stone.

He is survived by one daughter: Eva B. Langley of Siler City; one son: Dale Blackmon and wife, Angie of Glendon; two sisters: Mae Jamerson of Sanford and Beulah Stone of Cameron; three brothers: Jimmy Blackmon of Cameron, Johnny Blackmon of Bear Creek and Kenny Blackmon of Tramway; step-children, Cary Johnson, Julie Mabe, and Robin Fulford of Siler City; grandchildren, Ashley Cox, Brandon Welch, Michael McCaul and Amber Edmonds; seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 22, 2017 from 5:00 - 6:00 PM at Community Baptist Church. The funeral will be Monday, May 22, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Community Baptist Church, 2575 Hamp Stone Road, Siler City with Rev. Mark Agan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
