Beulah Settle Rogers, 97, of Siler City passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Rogers was born May 16, 1919, in Surry County, NC, the daughter of Flerdie J. and Carrie Ingool Settle. Beulah was retired from Collins & Aikman after 311/2 years of service. She was a charter member of Brookdale Baptist Church and held numerous offices in the church. She loved to read and sew, and served as a former volunteer of the Chatham Hospital Auxilary. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer P. Rogers, a son, Jimmy Rogers, siblings, Brady, Welborn, Garvie, George and Millard Settle, Lula Harpe, Grace Couch and Lucille Pardue.
She is survived by two daughters; Peggy Willett and Frances Rogers both of Siler City,
Daughter-in-law; Faye Rogers of Winston-Salem, grandchildren; Chris Rogers of Winston-Salem, Tommy Willett of Siler City, Tim Rogers of Clemmons, Teresa Phillips (William) of Siler City; great grandchildren; Blake Phillips, Rachael Phillips, Danielle Rogers, and Aaron Rogers; Sister-in-law; Christine Settle, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. Other times they will be at the family home. The funeral will be held Monday, February 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Brookdale Baptist Church, 1133 West Third Street, Siler City with Rev. Rob Roberts officiating. A graveside service will follow on Monday at 3:30 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 593 Pleasant Hill Drive, Elkin, NC 28621.
