Beulah Mae Caviness Hicks, 96, of Goldston, went to her heavenly home Sunday, March 10th, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

She was born in Chatham County on February 4th, 1928, to James Lern Caviness, Sr. and Bessie Ann Hilliard Caviness. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William H. Hicks; her son, Dwight Hicks; her daughter, Jeanette Blackmon; and her grandson, Mark Dickerson, and her great grandson, Hunter Hicks; brother, Calvin Caviness; sisters, Mary Shoppe, Rosie Neal, and Bertha Mozelle Caviness.

Beulah is survived by her two sons, William Ray Hicks of Goldston and Stanley David Hicks of Bennett: and her two daughters, Phyllis H. Dickerson of Greensboro, Sandra K. Hicks of Goldston, and daughter-in-law, Diane Hicks of Pittsboro; brothers, Floyd Caviness of Sanford, George Caviness (Josette) of Sanford, and James Caviness (Martha) of Sanford; sisters, Carolyn Caviness Litz (Larry) of Bristol, VA, and Gracie Caviness Zimmerman (Jerry) of High Point; seven grandchildren, Sonja Kitchings (Scott), Shannon Hicks, Angie Hilliard (Lynn), Jeanna Dickerson, Kenneth Blackmon, Jr., Adam Hicks, and Steven Hicks; nine great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Beulah was a graduate of Goldston High School and CCTI in Nursing. She was a retired LPN. She was a member of Goldston Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Women’s Sunday school class. Beulah enjoyed reading and watching her game shows like Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, loved eating sweets, and gathering every Sunday to watch the Gaither homecoming video. To Beulah, what was important to her was her faith, family, and friends. She loved her Lord and had a deep love and concern for her family. To her friends, she was Beulah to her brothers and sisters, she was Toot, and to her children and grandchildren, she was the best example we could have.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be made to the Liberty Home Health & Hospice, 401 E 3rd St, Siler City, NC 27344.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at 2 PM, at Tyson’s Creek Baptist Church, 10981 Siler City Glendon Rd., Bear Creek, NC 27207with burial following at Providence Methodist Church Cemetery, 904 Providence Church Rd. Siler City, NC 27344. Visitation will be from 1 -1:45 pm at Tyson's Creek Baptist Church. Service will be officiated by Reverend Scott Walker.
