Beulah Hancock Hammer, 89, of Goldston died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford.
Beulah was born in Chatham County on December 23, 1925 the daughter of George Graham and Mossie Wilson Hancock. Beulah was a member of Goldston Baptist Church where she was a member of the WMU, social and the benevolent committees. For years, Beulah provided the floral arrangements for the church sanctuary, many of which she grew herself. She was retired from Glendale Hosiery. Beulah was a hard working lady with many talents, including working in her flower and vegetable gardens, cooking, canning and sewing. She also enjoyed entertaining family and friends with social gatherings.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Leroy Hammer; brothers, Raeford and Roy Hancock; sister, Ruby H. Hammer.
She is survived by son, Douglas W. Hammer and wife, Rachel of Morehead City; daughter, Lee H. Allenbaugh and husband, Bill of Chapel Hill; grandson, Jonathan Hammer; sisters, Jearline Brown of Bennett , Augusta Gilliland of Goldston, Joyce Headen and husband, Tommy of Siler City, and Linda Jones and husband, Jimmy of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 24, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Goldston Baptist Church with Rev. Mitch Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Goldston Cemetery.
