Betty Lou Owens

Betty Lou "Lulu" Wright Owens, 89, of Fuquay-Varina passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Windsor Point Retirement Community, Fuquay-Varina. Mrs. Owens was born December 13, 1930 the daughter of William Martin and Myrtle Deree Pennington Wright. Betty attended Women's College in Greensboro, and Commercial College of Asheboro. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She retired from the State Department of Revenue. Betty had many hobbies which included needle point and playing golf and was an amazing organist. She loved shopping, spending time feeding the birds and going out for a good walk. Her family was everything to her, she loved all her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband Horace C. "Dixie" Owens, brother; William Floyd Wright, and sister; Nancy Wright White. She is survived by nieces; Sharon Jones of Fuquay-Varina, Betty Deree Brooks and husband Reid, Candace Wright, and Christy Sink and husband Jason, nephews; Buddy Wright and wife Edith, Michael White and wife Carmen, great nieces; Emma, Charlotte, and Remington Jones, Harlyn Sink, McKenna And Cassidy White and Kayla Tew, great nephews; Grayson, Camden, Leo and Norrin Jones and Braxton Brooks There will be a private memorial service on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery, N. Chatham Ave, Siler City with Rev. William Sabiston officiating. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1101 West Raleigh Street, P O Box 212, Siler City, NC 27344.
