Betty Lou "Bootsie" Mabe Ferguson, 82, of Jessie Bridges Road, Siler City died Monday, December 24, 2012 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Ferguson was born in Stokes County August 31, 1930 the daughter of Gilmer J. and Betty (Moorefield) Mabe. She was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and a homemaker. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sister, Dennis Mabe, Odell Mabe, Elsie Manuel, Maggie Mabe and Thelma Webb and a special aunt and uncle, Lelia and Hackett Dillon.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Ferguson, two daughters: Cindy F. Thomas and husband, Tim of Mooresville, NC, Sallie Ferguson and Brian Herrmann of Siler City, NC and one son: Mike Ferguson of Apex, NC; granddaughters, Alison Thomas and Morgan Thomas; sisters, Polly Case, Eldean Cardwell and Shirley Mounce.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. A celebration of life service will be Friday, December 28, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, 3631 Mt. Vernon-Hickory Mountain Road, Siler City with Rev. Jason Dickerson officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Mount Vernon United Methodist Church.
