Betty Jean Beal McMillan

Betty Jean Beal McMillan, 67, of 64 Hudson Road, Siler City died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. Mrs. McMillan was born in Chatham County on April 15, 1944 the daughter of Vernie and Ruth Marie (Yow) Beal. Mrs. McMillan was a graduate of Chatham Central High School and employed as a teacher's assistant at Siler City Elementary School. She had also worked part time at Triad Insurance Co. and Cranford Studios. She was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church and the Women's Sunday School Class. Her interest included going to Carolina Beach, reading, playing rummy, art work and interior decorating. She is survived by her husband of 50 years: Bobby E. McMillan and two sons: Michael McMillan and wife, Jamie of Randleman, NC, Jon McMillan and wife, Tracey of Siler City, NC; one sister: Gayle B. Hughes of Greenville, TN; one brother: James Robert Beal of Sanford, NC; grandchildren, Ian, Maggie, Ellie McMillan and Hunter Strickland. A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Brush Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 5345 Airport Road, Bear Creek with Rev. Stephen Stowe officiating.
