Betty Sue Furr Williams, 85, of 309 North Garden Avenue, Siler City died Friday, December 23, 2011 at Chatham Hospital, Inc., Siler City. Mrs. Williams was born January 15, 1926 the daughter of Lewis W. and Nena (Holtzclaw) Furr. Mrs. Williams was born in Mecklenburg County, worked as a key punch operator with J. P. Stevens Co. and also with the American Red Cross in Charlotte. In her retirement years in Siler City she enjoyed working at Chatham Trades. Betty was a member of the Siler City Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one daughter: Kathy Williams Davis and husband, Steve of Siler City, NC; one brother: Jon Furr and wife, Ann of Indian Trail, NC; grandchildren, Matt Davis and wife, Sunny of Raleigh, NC, Andy Davis and wife, Kimberly of Bear Creek, NC, Molly Davis of Cary, NC; great-grandchildren, Tally, Andrew, Baylor and Carson. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Siler City Presbyterian Church. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday with Rev. Sue Flippin officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City. Memorials may be made to Siler City Presbyterian Church, 720 W. 3rd St., Siler City, NC 27344.
