Benny Ralph Crank

Benny Ralph Crank, 77, of Bear Creek passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 surrounded by family in Pittsboro. Mr. Crank was born May 28, 1943, a native of Dublin, TX and the son of Eugene and Leola Crank. Benny was a Navy Veteran, of the Baptist faith. He loved to build model boats and shoot his guns. You could find him spending time tending to his garden. In addition to his parents, Benny is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Janice Marie Staton Crank and brother, Tom Crank. He is survived by three sons; Timothy J. Turner and wife Jeanne of Pittsboro, Dan Ritchie of Clarksville, TN, and Jeff Ritchie of TX, brother; Lane Crank of CA, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 2:00-5:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. Graveside services will be on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144 with David Hobson officiating.
