Barbara Jean Holder Williams, 89, of Siler City passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Randolph Hospice House.
Ms. Williams was born in Surry County on January 5, 1934, daughter of the late Carlie C. and Rushia Bobbitt Holder. Barbara was the owner and operator of Barbara's Suburban Fashions in Siler City. She was also a member of Oakley Baptist Church where she was involved with the Pauline Powers Sunday School Class, the church choir, and the Dig N' Hoe Garden Club. Barbara was active with the Women's Missionary Union and served as a Cub Scout leader. She also served on the board with Chatham Group Home and helped with the special Olympics. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed painting, arranging flowers, playing cards, singing, cooking, and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde T. Williams; and siblings, Annie Ruth Holder Worth, Earl Wayne Holder, Mary Georgia Holder, Davis W. Holder, Otis W. Holder, Rufus C. Holder, Hobert E. Holder, Ray H. Holder, and Roy W. Holder.
Ms. Williams is survived by her sons, Mike C. Williams and wife Jacquie of Johnson City, TN, Clay Williams and wife Pam of Shacklefords, VA, and Eric A. Williams of Siler City; daughters, Debbie Wilkie and husband Ronnie of Goldston and Karen Payne and husband Kevin of Oakridge; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. at Oakley Baptist Church of Siler City. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Jeff Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
