Barbara Sue Liles Marley

Barbara Sue Liles Marley, 67, of Hillbrook Blvd., Siler City died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Marley was born in Durham on August 22, 1948 the daughter of Ray and Ida May (Nance) Liles. Barbara was a graduate of the UNCG School of Music. She was a member, the organist and choir director for the First United Methodist Church in Siler City for many years and also the First Baptist Church where she retired, and she taught piano. Her shared musical talents will be a legacy of music through her students including many of her nieces. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clyde Nowel1 Liles. She is survived by her husband of 47 years: Danny Marley; one daughter: Dianne Marley Armstrong and husband, Michael of Siler City, NC; one sister: Ann Inman and husband, David of Sanford, NC; two brothers: David Liles and wife, Peggy of Raleigh, NC, Edward Liles and wife, Terry of Siler City, NC; grandchildren, Bryce, Breanna, Amy, Lisa. The funeral will be Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 1101 West Raleigh Street, Siler City with Rev. Clyde Denny officiating. The family will receive friends following service in the church Fellowship Hall. A private burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church for the Families In Need Fund, Box 212, Siler City, NC 27344.
